Message Takeaways - The Pillars of Discipleship
The Pillars of Discipleship
Hebrews 3:12-13; Philippians 2:1-8
Pastor Stu taught us that spiritual maturity is an ongoing journey of growth, supported by the church’s four pillars: gospel-centered worship, life together as a family, gospel-centered growth, and mission. These elements together create an environment for our sanctification and maturation in Christ.
Takeaways:
The path to maturity in Christ involves a community of believers walking together, growing through worship, and striving toward a mission to make Christ known. As we engage these pillars in our lives, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ.
This week, immerse yourself in these pillars and invite the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you can grow in your discipleship journey.

Three ideas to reflect on this week:
Devotional 1: Gospel-centered Worship Fuels Our Discipleship
Psalm 95:1-2 - Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Reflection Question: How can you deepen your enjoyment of God and allow it to overflow into genuine praise?
Prayer Prompt: Lord, fill my heart with joy and gratitude as I come into Your presence. Let my praise for You be the fuel that drives my growth in discipleship.
Devotional 2: Life Together as a Family Supports Continuous Growth
Hebrews 10:24-25 - And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Reflection Question: In what ways can you actively engage and encourage others in your church family this week?
Prayer Prompt: Father, help me to invest in my church community. Give me the courage and love to encourage and support my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Devotional 3: Gospel-centered Growth Requires Humility and the Mind of Christ
Philippians 2:3-4 - Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Reflection Question: How can adopting the mind of Christ transform your relationships and interactions this week?
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, teach me to lead with humility and selflessness. Transform my mind to reflect Yours, so I may grow and serve others as You have shown.
Devotional 4: Mature Disciples Naturally Lean into Mission and Sharing the Gospel
Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
Reflection Question: What steps can you take to share the gospel and disciple others in your daily life?
Prayer Prompt: Holy Spirit, guide me in Your mission. Open my eyes to opportunities to share Your love and wisdom with those around me, and fill me with the boldness to act on them.
