Message Takeaways - Being the Salt and Light: Entering the Land with Strength & Courage

Joshua 1:1–9; Romans 8:31–32

Pastor Stu reminded us that Redemption Hills Church is standing at its own Jordan River moment, called by God to move forward in strength and courage into the community He has placed before us. Just as Israel prepared to take the land, every believer at RHC has a divine assignment that contributes to God’s transformational work in Southwest Jefferson County.

Takeaways
  • God calls His people to arise, cross the river, and enter the land He has prepared.
  • Every person at Redemption Hills Church has a vital role in community transformation.
  • Our gifts, strengths, and competencies are God-given tools for mission.
  • We move forward with courage because God is with us wherever we go.

This week, take time to prayerfully consider what it means for you to “arise and go” as part of RHC’s mission. You were placed here “for such a time as this,” equipped by God to contribute to His kingdom work in our community. As we cross into this next season together, let’s walk with confidence in the God who goes before us and remains with us.

Four ideas to reflect on this week:

Devotional 1 — Arise and Cross the River
Joshua 1:2
Reflection: Where is God inviting you to step forward in obedience, even if it feels uncertain or new?
Prayer Prompt: Lord, give me the courage to arise when You call and to trust You as I step into the land before me.

Devotional 2 — Your Role in the Mission
Joshua 1:3–5
Reflection: How has God uniquely positioned you to participate in the mission of RHC?
Prayer Prompt: Father, show me my place in Your work and help me use my gifts for the good of Your people and our community.

Devotional 3 — Discovering Your Gifts
Joshua 1:7–8
Reflection: What gifts has God given you that may be underused or unseen?
Prayer Prompt: Holy Spirit, reveal the gifts You’ve placed in my life and teach me how to use them faithfully and boldly.

Devotional 4 — Strength and Courage in God’s Presence
Scripture: Joshua 1:9; Romans 8:31–32
Reflection: Where do you need to replace fear with confidence in God’s presence this week?
Prayer Prompt: Lord, remind me that You are with me wherever I go. Help me live with strength, courage, and trust in Your promises.
