Worship Team Auditions

We are looking for musicians and vocalists with Godly character who exemplify Christ on and off the stage - people who find genuine joy in serving, receive feedback with humility, and dedicate themselves to a team. Serving on the RHC worship team means more than showing up on the weekends you're scheduled - our team members are active participants in the life, community, mission and vision of the church. We hold a high standard of musical preparedness, because excellence in our craft is an act of worship and good stewardship of the gifts and talents we’ve been given. We do not perform - rather, we present the truth of God through song and give our congregation the opportunity to respond. The most important voice in the room is not on the stage - it's in the seats. Everything we do prepares and invites our congregation to sing. If this sounds like a team you’d like to serve on, keep reading!

What does it look like to serve on worship team?

Time Commitment

  • It is requested that you serve at least 1-2 weekends per month
  • Call time for the weekend is 1:30pm on Saturday and 8:50am on Sunday (you will serve both days for weekends you are scheduled)
  • Call time for Prayer & Worship is 5:30pm the last Wednesday of every month
  • Special services such as Christmas Eve or Easter may require additional rehearsals and services. We ask that, unless you are working or out of town, you would be available and expect to be scheduled for these events.

Musical Preparedness

  • You will be expected to show up to rehearsals and services with the songs prepared in advance
  • Our goal is that every team member knows the songs well enough that their eyes and attention are on the congregation, not a music stand. Whether that means memorization or simply deep familiarity, distraction-free leadership is the standard. Memorization is highly encouraged. Winging it is advised against strongly.
  • We provide chord charts, transposed recordings and isolated tracks for your part to assist you in preparing
  • You will be expected to provide your own in-ear-monitor headphones

Next Steps

If would like to be a part of our team please do the following:

  1. Fill out the worship team application below.
  2. Submit a video of yourself playing the songs from the list below.
    • A simple phone video works great, just make sure we can hear YOU over the recording.
    • If for some reason you cannot record a video, let us know in the application and we will be happy to set up an in-person audition.
    • You may use the resources provided here.
In the coming weeks, we will review your audition and evaluate any possible and relevant opportunities on our team. If it is determined that you are not yet ready to join our worship team, you will be notified of the reasons why and given clear goals to work toward, with the door open to audition again in the future.

We are so grateful for your interest in serving on our worship team!
